I can’t stand baby Yoda!
…actually I don’t care.
I rarely feel strongly about such things (though it is getting a little old)
“Da hell are you on about Chris?”
Ok so recently I made this post on my personal Facebook…
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy that aspect a little bit.Â
But the real reason is because I knew that post would be controversial.
That it would get a lot of engagement (reactions and comments) because its a trendy topic and one that is at odds with a lot of people.
I don’t do this just for the attention.
I do it because of my next post.
(which I was going to screenshot but I removed from my timeline to clean it up)
THAT post was we promoting the Local Viking webinar I was doing that week.
See by creating a post that will get people talking I force my posts to show up more often in their feed, and draw them to my timeline as well.
That means they will be likely to see what I want them to see… that will lead to Profiit.
This works in groups too, and to a lesser extent pages.
I have used it to great effect.
Things like:
“Mac vs. PC”
or
“Trump or Hillary?”
or something that goes against popular opinion
“DC is better than Marvel”
(I actually do prefer DC, but again I don’t really have strong feelings about stuff like this)
or “Dub Step is the one true type of music”
Whatever it is… just something that triggers people to engage… so they will see the stuff you want them to actually do.
Some additional things to note:
This works best if you have a lot of friends. Preferably 5,000 + followers
This is not for the weak… if you get drawn into heated conversations or care about offending people this isn’t for you.
Its also a good way, if you do have 5,000 to clear out a few to make room for new ones. I usually lose a few when I do this.
So that’s my tactic/social media hack for you for the week.
This may not be for everyone… but its just algorithm manipulation that can get you some good traffic.
So while I do think Baby Yoda is getting tiresome (and I haven’t even watched the show yet!) its nothing personal. Its all about the Profiit.
Talk to you tomorrow.
Best,
CMW
