Good Evening,

Sorry I didn’t send a dispatch yesterday. I was up at 2am 3 days in a row it finally caught up to me and I was in bed by like 5pm.

That lead me to today where I was still mentally fatigued and knew I wouldn’t do great work…

…so I just layed around the house all day watching Netflix.

You have likely seen me be critical of people that take time off, and I 100% think most people do take too much time off.

Having said that I think it is absolutely crucial to take the occasional do nothing day.

Not even doing something like traveling… literally just sitting around doing nothing but recharge.

Burn Out

I know when I do that I always come back with a vengeance.

I don’t let it become a crutch, a habit, or an excuse to do nothing, but I do try to be self aware enough to realize that I don’t have what it takes to do great things on a particular day…

…and my customers, team, and even me myself deserves nothing but the best (as do yours).

So that’s what I have accomplished today. Recharging the batteries via the most mindless things I can possibly do.

How do you deal with burnout? Do you ever take a “do nothing” day? Does it help?

Would love to hear how everyone handles this.

Talk to you tomorrow.

Best,
CMW
