Having a good service doesn’t mean you are entitled to sales.
Sometimes you will put together something great, that you know you can do well, and you know will help people…
…and no one will buy it.
For example in the late 1990s/Early 2000s there was a video game console called Sega Dreamcast
And it was amazing.
It was ahead of its time in graphics, sound, online gaming, and much more…
…and it was a commercial failure when compared to the other systems of the time the Playstation and the Nintendo 64.
But Why?
See its super important to have a great offer/product/service… but it doesn’t matter if no one knows about it.
No matter what business you are in, including marketplace freelancing (which is a business you are running, even if it is just a side hustle) your #1 job above all else is Sales and Marketing.
Nothing else matters if you can’t convince people that need what you are selling that they want it, and they should give you money for it.
So Why Am I Bringing This Up?
Well I launched a service on Legiit a while back that I know for a fact is a great service/offer as its what I do for my own clients, and the few sales I did get with it got great results…
…but it just would not sell.
I tried changing the price, promoting it more etc… it just wouldn’t catch on.
So I decided to scrap the entire sales page and angle and come up with something refreshing, playful and fun, and that will hopefully better explain the value of the service to the people seeing it.
See I honestly believe that when you have something to offer that will benefit people that it is your moral obligation to do whatever you can do to make sure they get that benefit.
Will the new angle/sales page work out?
Who knows. Only time will tell, but if it doesn’t I will scrap it and try again.
Anyway I hope this helps any of you that might be feeling discouraged or not sure of how to drum up more sales when you know what you have to offer is good.
Enjoy your weekend.
